2 9676/05/O/N/18 © UCLES 2018 Translate into Urdu: Music has always played an important part in people’s lives throughout the world. It accompanies many family events, such as birthdays, marriages and deaths, and public celebrations would not be complete without some kind of music. We sing to help us celebrate, but also when we are sad. Music communicates on all levels and often expresses what words cannot. It goes straight to the heart and makes us both laugh and cry. Today you can find most songs on the Internet and often download them for free. But, when recordings are so easily available on various websites, are we in danger of losing the experience of live performance? Also, now that computers can generate music, will composers and musicians disappear? It is certainly possible, but highly unlikely. After all, music is in our souls, it is part of human nature, and we do not need technology to create it. From the earliest times we have carried our voices inside us and made instruments out of everyday objects. Even in times of war or in terrible conditions, man has never lost the ability to create and compose. [40] … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … 1
